🏝️ National Team Crest
Inspired by the historic 1845 Hawaiian Coat of Arms, the crest represents unity, strength, and protection under a single sovereign nation. It features the royal standards of ancient chiefs—the Pūlo‘ulo‘u, Puela, and Ālia—symbols of authority and refuge.
Hanging vertically is the Hae Hawai‘i, the Hawaiian flag. The Union Jack honors Hawai‘i’s time as a British Protectorate before Independence was recognized in 1843, while the eight bold stripes represent the eight major islands standing together.
⚡ The Lapamua Design
The pattern on this jersey carries deep kaona—hidden meaning. It pays tribute to Nā ‘Ālapa Hawai‘i, named after the legendary ‘Ālapa Regiment of Chief Kalani‘ōpu‘u, known for unmatched strength, speed, and warrior spirit.
In modern Hawaiian, ‘ālapa means “athletic,” combining ‘Ā (“to blaze or ignite”) and lapa (“energetic” or “spirited”). Think lightning cutting across the sky—fast, fierce, unstoppable. That same energy is built into the jersey’s design, where the lapa pattern strikes through the fabric as a symbol of power, unpredictability, and the relentless drive of Hawaiian athletes.
